Artist's Description

An American Bald Eagle digests his prized Ring-necked Duck dinner before flying off a buoy (to the left of the hole in the ice with Great Blue Herons and more Ring-necked Ducks) on the frozen Potomac River by Fort Washington National Park at sunset. The duck made a lovely dinner at sunset for the bald eagle in this "circle of life" series of photos taken on 22 February 2015.
