Description
In an epic battle on the waters of Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary just north of Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC, an adult osprey tries to lift a giant orange koi fish. Eventually, the osprey loses this fish to the lore of great fish stories of all time on 4 April 2017.
SOLD: A custom remake of this "Big Orange Koi Fish Wins" photo at 100 cm x 150 cm and 250 dpi was sold to MBK Legal law firm in Frankfurt, Germany on 20171220!
INTERESTING NOTE: According to local DC/DMV online fishing reports, apparently people let their decorative Japanese koi fish go in the Potomac River when no longer wanted or predator birds snatch them from Japanese rock gardens and accidentally drop them into the Potomac River where they continue to grow and thrive. There have been several reports of local fishermen hauling in koi fish and colorful carp along the Potomac River on occasion.
