Male "Silverback" Western Lowland Gorilla named Babuka on the Prowl was shot during my first Zootography Class at Gulf Breeze Zoo on the Emerald Coast of Florida. We were in the "feed truck" on the 32-acre "safari" exhibit with the instructor and head zookeeper. Gulf Breeze Zoo specializes in primates, but also has a large collection of animals from Africa. Babuka (19 years old) and Rwanda (25 years old) are the proud parents of a baby male lowland gorilla named Kigali who was born in the Zoo in February 2012 weighing 5 pounds delivered via C-section and raised for 8 months by human subsitute mothers.
